Is CMAP™ loading (lifting involved) or invasive?
CMAP™ is completely non-loading and non-invasive (does not penetrate skin); therefore you cannot injure yourself or cause more damage to an existing injury.

Does CMAP™ have an U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval?
Yes, this technology has a 510K registration with the Food and Drug Administration as a Class II Diagnostic Device.

Are all CMAP™ reports issued by licensed professionals?
Licensed physical therapists administer all CMAP™ evaluations. All CMAP™ reports are issued by a board certified physician licensed in the state in which the evaluation is performed.

What can the CMAP™ monitor?
CMAP™ monitors the interactivity between muscles and nerves while the patient is in motion and simultaneously measures range of motion and strength (functionality). The SEMG monitors both sides of the body and provides information on muscle utilization and pathology. Based on the results, this comprehensive monitoring may provide your healthcare provider with information not previously available and may also prove helpful in determining the best treatment plan assisting recovery quickly.

How long does a CMAP™ evaluation take?
A typical CMAP™ takes 30 - 45 minutes.

Does CMAP™ cause pain?
No, CMAP™ is non-loading (no pressure is inflicted on joints) and non-invasive (no needles that penetrate the skin). It does not cause pain.

Can CMAP™ assist in the determination of alternative diagnosis in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), Fybromyalgia, Complex Reginal Pain Syndrome, Myofascial Pain and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?
CMAP™ may help your healthcare provider identify the cause of your symptoms. For example, some patients with symptoms in their hands are given a diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, when the real problem is coming from the neck area. CMAP™ can help identify abnormalities in the neck muscles and is FDA approved for this type of evaluation.
